Founded in 1998 by Robert Smith, the Vintage Car Radiator Company was built on a passion for precision engineering, traditional craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for classic motoring. Before launching the company, Robert spent many years working as a Mechanical Engineer with the Ministry of Defence — experience that laid the foundation for the skill and attention to detail that now defines our work.
What began as a small workshop focused on radiator restoration has grown into a market-leading business recognised globally for manufacturing and restoring vintage car radiators to the highest standards of quality and authenticity. From pre-war Bentleys to post-war classics, we take pride in recreating the focal point of each vehicle’s engine bay with unparalleled accuracy.
Over the years, we’ve developed and expanded our capabilities to include over 26 different original core patterns, alongside our complete range of radiator units. Thanks to our experienced in-house engineering team, we’ve also diversified into related components such as caps, stoneguards, trunnion rubbers, and fuel tanks — each crafted with the same commitment to precision and period-correct detailing.
